Caffeine Haunts

My Morning Haunt

At The Shoppes in Corporate Woods

I have been unable to access the internet at home so have gotten into the habit of coming here before school to study, finish homework and enjoy the atmosphere. It is frequented most by businessmen and women who come in before the daily work grind or those who have gone for a jog on the surrounding paths. Nevertheless it is small, cozy and friendly all together.

My Evening Haunt

Glenwood and 119th Street
(terrible picture, couldn't find a better one)

After work, instead of heading home, I again head to a Starbucks. This one used to be much bigger and actually doesn't look the same anymore as it does in the picture, as half of it has been invaded by a SmashBurger joint. But it still is bigger and a nice change of ambiance. I know some of the staff at this one and enjoy the little chats that we have in between their duties. also very interesting characters come to this one and engage you in conversation.

My Occasional Caffeine Haunt

Frequently I decided to desert the Starbucks franchise and go to this little coffee shoppe across from JCCC. It is delightfully moody inside. I love the dark, dim feel to it. On entering to your left is a sign on which they have a daily trivia question. For example "Where are Graz and Linz?" (luckily for me that was the first time I was in the establishment and since I grew up in Austria, I knew the answer right off the bat, resulting in 25cents off of my purchase) or "What fruit has the most amount of calories?" Do you know? (It's the avocado.) Their coffee is delicious and refreshing. They also have a delightful assortment of teas and tea concoctions.
